My people are back!

I need to get rid of my Sitemeter, really I do. I watch it and worry and fret and wonder where all these people come from - or where they've gone. For the last month, my readership has dropped daily. I kept telling myself it was because of the holiday season, but of course, being an only child, I was asking questions like "Am I boring them to death?" or "Is my S.A.D. showing?" Or even, "Do they hate me?"
Today, Christmas is over and my people are back! You haven't forgotten me after all.
Now, about that Fancy Macaroni: First of all, I think I added too much macaroni; it was pretty dry. Ree said not to add it all at once, but I didn't see that part until it was too late. Second, keep in mind that I substituted different kinds of cheese than the recipe called for.
I still prefer the old Better-Homes-And-Gardens recipe for macaroni and cheese. But that's just me.
This won't keep me from trying more of Pioneer Woman's recipes. Because I'm still loving that tasty Chicken spaghetti recipe of hers, not to mention the yummy chocolate sheet cake.
Oh, and if the poll on my sidebar keeps on the way it's going, I am definitely going to switch to Costco when it's time to renew my Sam's Club card.

  1. Hey....no fair...where are the photos of your macaroni and cheese? :)

BTW...does Cliff laugh at you when you take photos of your food in restaurants?

  2. Tango, he doesn't laugh; he growls. It's like "Oh no, here we go again."
You can look at the photos of the fancy macaroni on PW's site; mine looked pretty much the same.

  3. I have a Sam's membership, but my best friend has a Costco membership....and she loves hers. I've never been, though, so I guess I don't know what I'm missing. I will say that Costco has an amazing carrot cake at the bakery. Maybe that alone is worth it....

  4. We don't have either one here but they are started building a Sam's Club pretty close by,
I have never shopped at either one.

  5. I would have to say the Feta is probably where the mac n cheese went wrong. Feta just isn't designed to melt and be creamy like other cheeses. It is more of a salad cheese. (I think) I love Costco, I can only vaguely remember going to Sam's Club about 20 years ago. But from what I have read Costco treats their employees really well and that is important to me too.

  6. Thank you, Inga! I knew nothing about Feta cheese; I'll bet you are right, since the consistency of the sauce changed dramatically when I added it. So, I'll be adding it to salads, of which we'll likely be eating plenty after the new year because we've gotten much too round.

  7. I don't check sitemeter, I don't think I could handle the ups and downs of it. It's kind of like the stock market, I just keep plugging along and hope it all works out at the end.

I don't go to either Costcos or Sam's. I just don't shop enough for one to worry about savings. At least I don't think so. I don't think it would warrant the cost of a membership

I buy stuffed Chicken breast's every once in a while from Trader Joes. We like their Mediterranean style chicken. It is stuffed with Feta and Mozzarella cheeses and also sliced black olives. The cheeses don't melt but they become creamy and really compliment the chicken. Maybe you could try this with your Feta?
