I love motorcycles

It really is fun getting away on the Gold Wing with Cliff, especially when we can sneak in a ride in February. We knew it was going to be a little windy when we left, but really, it wasn't so bad.

Tuesday, Denny's was giving free breakfasts. No way would I have stood in line for it, but the news media talked so much about it that a seed was planted. I'm sure that's what Denny's had in mind when they gave away free meals. So guess where we headed?

We didn't eat our usual healthy breakfast at home. Cliff drank his coffee, and then we were off to Blue Springs.

We arrived at eleven o'clock: Maybe it was just the anticipation, but that breakfast really was that good! We didn't get the Grand Slam Breakfast, though: We got some senior meal that included two pancakes, two link sausages, two strips of bacon, and scrambled eggs. Yummy.

Cliff is going to hate this picture because his mouth is open; oh yeah, and there's a toothpick in his mouth. Sorry, Cliff.

Then we went to Tractor Supply in Independence. We needed to pick up some fly bait, and I found a couple of bargains while I was there.

I did not buy any T-shirts. If I had, it would have been these two:

We rode past Lake City Arsenal...

And almost home, we passed a couple of guys on non-motorized two-wheelers. By this time, the wind was making things difficult.

Tomorrow might bring another ride. Hopefully, not so windy.

  1. I'm jealous! Couldn't get out because I don't have mine back together yet. I did get my parts ordered today though. I can't wait to ride again.

  6. your motorcycle pics always bring back memories for me of the years I drove one of my own... there's nothing like the feeling of being on a back road and having it all to yourself.

  7. Speaking of books.....
    Current and projected book list:
I'm into GARRISON KEILLOR of Prairie Home Companion of public radio fame right now. It's worth the read.
Next it will be "On The Road" with Charles Kuralt."
I don't buy books, I'd rather helpfully taking them off the hands of those having no other means getting rid of them.
This just one of the favors I do for offer folks

  8. Sure wish we had a Tractor Supply here!!!! I go when I am in Florida but that's the only place I know that has them. I'd buy that shirt that says MY BARN-MY RULES for the lady that runs the stable where I have my guys in the winter. It would be perfect for her......'nuff said.....

  10. Cliff looks fine!

Hey I was just down that road yesterday, lol...went to pick up one of Alex's homeschool buds who lives just beyond Fort Osage HS. Such a beautiful area, but one day I'm going to get us killed on that circle highway, what the heck IS that?
