Sunny day, but cold

So, what's Cliff up to?

I went out to get the mail and did a double-take at first. My husband was laying on the concrete in front of the garage! Had he had a heart attack? A stroke? Was he ill?

Had he fallen, and couldn't get up?

None of the above. He was talking to his cousin on the phone. Remember, Cliff has only one ear that works, so he has a difficult time getting comfortable for long conversations. He can't switch hands or ears.

On another note: If you want a good laugh, go over and read Jon's entry today at Lone Star Concerto. Sometimes you can catch him on a political rant, and we, his loyal readers, just suffer through; but today he was the old Jon we all know and love, telling about his latest misfortunes. And that's why we keep going back.

  2. I'll admit it - - I'm often guilty of making people suffer......but it's much more pleasurable to make them laugh, even if it's at my own expense.
    Thanks for the plug, Donna!

  3. Is a hearing aid on the horizon? My dad recently ot one and is never quite happy with it. Half of our phone conversations are about this. SIGH

  4. I was expecting to see the Valentine gift, but I guess he is your Valentine...concrete and all.
I'm not so sure I could get back up again after laying down on that hard stuff. Happy Valentines Day!

  5. That looks comfortable enough.

My Dad has one ear not hearing well since he was once slapped very hard in his teens slave worker by a Japanese soldier during the occupation of Singapore.

Now at 82, the good ear is not as good anymore either, so talking to him takes great vocal effort as he refuses for me to get him a hearing aid.

    Have a good weekend!

  6. That would have scared me to death! One summer day I looked out in the pasture and I could see Hubby on the ground. I just about had a stroke and ran out there. He was on his belly with a branch cutter trying to cut the roots on a stump that he was working on getting out of the ground! Good grief! After that we got the tractor with a backhoe on the front!!!
