SOMETHING NEW
OK, so it's a very old Oliver 550 tractor built in 1960, but it's Cliff's NEW and LATEST project. This is what keeps him busy in the shop lately. It's a tractor that's been "rode hard and put away wet" as the old saying goes. Cliff is giving it a new lease on life.
Tractors really look naked without all their parts, don't they?
Cliff closed up a hole in the fuel line with solder and is checking to see if he did a decent job of it.
One of the biggest problems with this tractor was a broken governor. Here's where it goes. Cliff bought one on Ebay that should be showing up at our door before long.
The tractor also had a nasty exhaust leak, so the manifold has been removed until the gaskets can be purchased and put in place.
There was a huge problem with the steering; that's why the steering wheel is sitting there where it doesn't belong. He's already taken care of that issue.
Iris guards the wood stove in the shop, just in case somebody should try to sabotage it.
This is day 18 of the 30 day photo challenge.
Looks like quite a project Cliff is tackling. How long does he figure it will take to get it in tip-top shape.
ReplyDeleteIt shouldn't be too long; he's been working on it for a couple of weeks, and the hardest parts are done.
ReplyDeleteIris has the best job! I love how dedicated Cliff is to his tractor projects. I bet he has that beast looking like new before too long ~
ReplyDeleteThere is not a doubt in my mind that Cliff is enjoying his retirement. How wonderful he has the perfect place to work there.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I would do if I had a shop that big to work in. Probably just make a bigger mess, I expect. (grin) I'm still envious of Cliff's projects.
ReplyDeleteAnd Iris says "Happiness is a warm butt!"
Cliff keeps his work place so neat. Bet he doesn't make a mess in the house like some men I know.
ReplyDeletePaula, I'm the resident slob around here.
ReplyDeleteI love your new header picture. You take awesome pictures. Hope you're having a good day.
