Depression cooking

I found out about these videos from Deb, over at Keep It Cheap.

It's a ninety-three-year-old woman telling how to cook depression foods. In the process, though, she tells stories (you know how I love stories) of how things were in the Depression.

She has a
ton of videos, and I'm going to be watching every one soon!

Thanks, Deb.

  1. She is adorable!!!! I thought it was interesting how she didn't use a cutting board for anything but the hotdogs and then she put the stuff in the skillet cold, I would have thought you needed to heat the oil first. As simple as it was it did look tasty!

  2. I couldn't get the video. I just got my computer back and I think there are a few bugs to be worked out. Sigh.......... It also took my turkey whisperer video off! Go figure, this one will take some investigating!

  5. I loved her! She reminded me that my mom would have been 90 this year. She did a lot of depression cooking, though I never figured that out. Now I will have to go to youtube and watch more! Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Penny

  6. Gosh, so much going on around the farm I can't keep up with the cheap eats and polytics. Nobody asks my opinion anyway. I'm just to much country I'd guess. [:^))

  8. She is great! Scary with that knife though, but I guess she knows how to handle one after cooking so many meals!
