Oops

Although I have the money set aside to pay our taxes this year, I had intended to pay the taxes using a credit card, then pay the bill as soon as it showed up next month, just for the credit card rewards.  Seemed like a good plan to me.
Then I read the Credit Card Charge Form that came with my tax bill:  "I understand that the total amount charged on my credit card will include an additional 3.9% Convenience Fee as allowed by Missouri Statute 130.055.  This convenience Fee is not retained by the Collector or the County."  
I'm pretty sure the $50 this would add onto my two tax bills is more than I would have netted in rewards.  I'll skip the credit card and pay cash.  But they're not getting it until the last week of the year!
