So, I see HERE that officials in Washington are pushing another round of economic stimulus checks. Yeah, like it really helped the economy last time, right?
So they'll print up some more "play money" and pass it around, and the people who are losing their homes get to stay there one more month before they have to move. And everybody will wonder why the dollar isn't worth much any more.
Well, it will help me pay more bills. Had to spend my Christmas club money on bills. No money left for gifts this year. Have to go into more debt on credit cards I guess.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. Our currency is becoming Monopoly Money :-)

It seems to me that the people who have the greatest effect on our economy failed economics in school. Just because the printing press will keep printing money doesn't make it worth anything.
ReplyDeleteI'm about to stick my fingers in my ears and sing la, la, la. I'm tired of them messing around instead of fixing it. If our media would shut up and quit announcing that the sky is falling, I think things would be some different.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think another payment will only make a difference to the peeps who have...lets say a final notice on their light bill or a few weeks worth of groceries and a few fill ups of gas.... Big duptie Doo!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen sister!!
ReplyDeleteHubby and I were just commenting that it sure doesn't look like there are any economic problems here at the theme parks! The place is mobbed and our hotel is filled to capacity. You'd think these places would be the first to feel the pinch!
Well the people who pay taxes should get something too.
ReplyDeleteAfter we bailed all those corupt bankers out.
I for one can use that money.
It will be a big help with Christmas coming up.
If my husbands check was not taxed to death we could live very well.
They are going to have to give people a lot more than 600 dollars (or less for some) to make a difference. Then like you say, the dollar becomes more and more worthless. The thing is, if people are smart they will pay off a little debt instead of spending it out at the stores. Christmas is bleak looking for a lot of people. I think we should go back to before, when Christmas was not so commercialized. The joy of Christmas is family and friends and just being together.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you see it for what it is. I feel insulted that those in charge thinks that the general population is dumb enough to take a piece of candy and will think they are getting a full course meal.
ReplyDeleteSend it on Uncle Sam...I'll take yer money!!
ReplyDeleteHi Donna! I am feeling better and I am out visiting a little bit!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your prayers! I really appreciate it.
It was fun to read all the comments on the stimulus checks! Who knows what they will do! What a mess!
My hope is in you Lord! Isn't that a song we use to sing a few years back! Still a good one! Hugs, Grams
Oh I didn't know they were going to send another check and here I am still wondering why the first one didn't seem to help the economy much. There are probably lots of folks who didn't even cash it yet. Maybe we should just transfer our real money over to monopoly money LOL. Though we could use some help for sure due to our fight for my son, I just don't know why they can't fix the problem and get things back on track.

Grrrr ... just more ... grrrr.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I like money as well as the next person, but is this just a bandaid? I may be wrong, but I think everything needs to fall where it will and see what happens. Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog and I love yours!
