A ray of hope?

The worst thing about this siege of bad weather is the way it won't quit. We've been mostly in single digits and teens since before Christmas. I can pretty well put up with anything as long as I know it's temporary, but this has not been easy for me... or for anybody else. It reminds me of "Ground Hog Day". I wake up in the morning to the same old weather forecast we've had for days.
Oh, I've tried to bear up; you know the old saying, "Everybody talks about the weather but... blah, blah blah." So I've tried to keep my opinion about this cold spell to myself, and blog about other things.
Cliff bought me those expensive Muck boots so I can get out and take my walk and get some sunshine, and I have been talking my daily walk with Sadie, in spite of the fact that every time I get a halfway decent trail blazed through the snow, another snowstorm comes and drifts my path full. Again.
Usually when we're having unpleasant weather, there's one thing that keeps me from breaking under the load: the ten-day forecast. Because it really is true that, in Missouri, if you don't like the weather, you only have to wait awhile and it will change.
The ten-day forecast has let me down for weeks, but finally I see a ray of hope: temperatures with highs in the thirties in a few days! Please God, let it be.

If only we can make it through the weekend.

And now, back to my regularly scheduled blogging.

  4. I just can't handle gloomy, cloudy cold days. Sunshine always perks me up.
We're expecting snow again on Thursday. The previous snow is still there since it's not gotten much above freezing the past week or so.
Here's hoping for warmer days!!! I need to dump my black water tank soon. :(

  5. It hasn't been -quite- as cold here in FL, but because we aren't used to it, the lows in the teens have been really rough on us. We just aren't set up to handle that kind of cold. Sigh! Like you, I can usually handle a spate of weather because it is usually gone in a day or two, but this just keeps holding on & on. Bigger Sigh! I'll be glad when -something- happens with this weather pattern :(

  7. I can imagine how you are feeling. I don't handle being hog tied very well. We are not at all equiped to handle cold weather and we sure don't know how to drive in it.

  8. I am so, so, so cold. I hate it. I am helping care for someone in the hospital this week in Manhattan,KS and it is exhausting being there in the hospital and you can't even go outside to get some fresh air.

  9. Its hard not to talk about the weather when it is so extreme everywhere. Even in England and Poland they are experiencing some unusual weather. They say its the longest coldest spell since 1985, I believe it. You are brave going out walking in the wind and snow, just be careful and don't let the snow cover you up on that walk! :)

  10. Your temps look a lot like ours. If we can get through a very cold weekend, then the temps will get up in the 30s next week. Glad you're able to get in your daily walks.
