The problem with Windows....

You can click to make this larger; what it shows is how many problems have been discovered (and gotten rid of) in a relatively short time by Avira, my free antivirus. Possibly if I could get Windows update to work, I wouldn't have so much trouble. But of course, Windows won't update.

Which is why I'm willing to try that Mac Mini. Soon. And although it's possible to install Windows on a Mac, I won't be doing that.

This is why I do a daily virus scan.

  1. WOW...so much "junkie viruses." Will have to check out Avira. Thanks for the info!

  2. You will love the simplicity of your Mac.... as does everyone I've ever met that used one that had used Winduhs before. In 2004 10% of the faculty and students at Princeton University used Macs.... in 2007 it was 40%.... we're in good company.

  3. Doc has a MAC and he doesn't get any viruses but he can't get ANYTHING that anybody sends him either. He has his computer guy come out at least twice a month. It's not his security settings. It's a mess. There isn't a perfect computer out there. Anne

  4. I understand that some things aren't immediately viewed on a MAC, but there is almost ALWAYS an add-on that fixes the situation...and most are free. Windows charges for EVERYTHING, including operating systems that are so buggy that they may as well be a virus themselves. MAC give you the answers. Once you go MAC....

  5. Wow! That's a lot of stuff! Will be interested how you like your Mac when you get it and how much of a learning curve it is. I just don't have the energy to learn something new. Lazy I guess.
