Dear CBS

To CBS and KCTV Channel Five:

Cold Case is one of my top favorite shows. I love the way the cameras show flashes of the characters as they used to be when a crime was committed, then flash back to the present. I can't get enough!

I'm now the happy owner of a Dish DVR, so I record what I want to watch. This way I don't have to worry about missing out on something if I'm gone, or if (more likely) I nod off to sleep during those long commercial breaks (which I don't have to watch if the show is recorded on DVR).

Cold Case is scheduled to begin at 8 PM Sunday evening. For at least the last two weeks, although the DVR starts recording as scheduled and goes from 8 to 9 PM, an idiotic reality show called "Amazing Race" has lasted until 8:30. This means I get the last half-hour of Amazing Race (gag) and only the first half-hour of Cold Case.

I realize in these tough economic times (hello, daughter-of-mine), that this is a minor issue. In the vast scheme of things, it doesn't even register as a drop in the bucket.

But please, please get your stuff in order. Surely I'm not the only one whose miffed.

I like Amazing Race! And it has the same problems with losing part of the show when a sports program runs longer. So when I see March Madness is still going on, I program the following show too. And fast forward thru the part I don't want to see. Or I watch my show later on the computer.

  4. Just think now you can get Cold Case files 24/7. I've seen it scheduled on many other channels as well. Enjoy and have fun,
    Katie
You may become the next detective!

  7. We're living in the Stone Age and still make do with a VCR. I always add at at least 30 minutes to any show I tape.

  8. Sigh. I wish you could send me your Amazing Race recordings. I get a bunch of 60 minutes where the Race should be and only have MY show. We love Amazing Race. LOL Darn these sports that run over and screw up our programming!!

love love love dvr! We never watch commercials any more. We actually turn the tv away from the news while it tapes so we can watch it later without commercials. The dvr would be the last thing to go if we start cutting things loose.
