The Great Toilet Paper Test

By the time it was all said and done, counting the advice I got on Facebook and comments here on my blog, the overwhelming favorite toilet tissue was Scott's 1000, so I bought some.  My other TP finally ran out and the test started.
The first thing I learned about this tissue is that you had better start with a yard of it; for a big job, probably two yards.  It's really thin.
But it's tough.  I decided I liked it, but would Cliff?  His bathroom still had a couple of rolls of the old stuff, so I had to wait to find out.
After three days of testing Scotts 1000, it's a winner in Cliff's bathroom, too.  Now, there are some things you don't need a lot of detail on, so I won't tell you all the reasons why he likes it.  We do both agree that you don't have to worry about your fingers poking through it at inconvenient times.  Enough said.
Despite using over a yard at a time, I'm still using the same roll I initiated five days ago.
Consumer Reports doesn't like this TP, but we're giving it a big thumbs-up.  Oh, and the bonus is that this one is the best for your septic tank, if you have one.
We're hooked.

  2. Maybe I need to scroll back and see what your readers said in your poll. :) Interesting topic.

(We discovered flusable toilet wipes and don't want to give it up...in addition to toilet tissue for the little jobs.)

  4. I'm glad you liked the Scott. Walmart and some grocery chains carry their version of it which is just as good but cheaper. I think at Walmart it is called Pert.

  5. Glad you liked the Scott's. As I said before, it's my favorite, or Kroger's version (just as good as long as you get the Kroger 1000 and not the soft stuff, and usually a bit cheaper). I don't know if you do coupons.com, but if you do, a few days ago they had a coupon for Scott's 1000, and it may still be there.
