My new tree

Here you see how I positioned my Crepe Myrtle tree in the front yard. I understand you can also allow these to become a bush, but I like it better this way. In the background, on the left, is the Chanticleer Pear tree I planted last year; on the right is one of the two Autumn Blaze maples, also planted last year. Those are supposed to be really spectacular in the autumn.

The new tree had some blooms on it already when we brought it home, and now it seems more are opening up.

Here's a closeup. I think I'm going to love this tree; I'll bet the hummingbirds love it, too. It can bloom up to six months straight!

those are so pretty - and super easy to take care of - i have 3 of the bushes and they create those pretty pink blooms like crazy.

  2. I love mine and the neighbors on one side and in the back have them also but in different colors. I don't think I have seen a hummer sip from it but they use the limbs to hide in so they can attack other hummers that come to the feeder. Helen

  6. Your house looks beautiful from the first picture. I like the colors. The trimmed lawn and flowers make the house attractive and heavenly.

The tree you planted promises an even more beautiful addition to the landscape. The hummingbirds will just love it. Definitely.

  7. Love your new tree. Beautiful! You will enjoy it for many years to come.

I grew up drinking raw milk and it never hurt me any either. It was quite an adjustment going to 2% milk and then 1% let me tell you!
