Pictures

I already had some pale pink hibiscus' and also dark pink.  Last fall my cousin, Betty, gave me seeds from her red hibiscus.  Wow, this is going to be my prettiest one yet!

The machinery and gadgets that keep our well pump running are housed under this little roof.

There's Cliff, fixing our problem.  It's nasty down there; slugs abound.

Here's our big boy, waiting for your name suggestions.

There his poor, proud, very skinny mom is, worrying about him.

  2. I'm sitting here waiting for the rain to stop this morning. So your cherry pictures are a nice welcoming site for me. Well all except for Cliff in the well. Although he sure did have good news for you. Do those hibiscus come back every year. I've never had any but they sure are pretty.

  3. "Ma", not only do they come back, they sow their seeds all over your flowerbed until you have to pull a bunch of them. They're really not invasive, but they do reproduce. They have big, beautiful flowers and require almost no care. Maybe next year I'll offer seeds of the red one to my readers.

  4. The pictures of the baby are adorable. I'm so glad that it's over and that you were there to give Bonnie some help. She looks relieved as I'm sure that you are, that's one worry lifted, hope you can sleep better. The little one looks like a DANDY or DAN DEE to me. Again, congratulations and thanks for posting the great "graphic" pictures. Vicki

  6. Hi Donna, thanks for commenting on my blog so I'd know where to find you! I've enjoyed looking at your posts. I looked at your page where you also talked about one room schools. Very interesting! I wish I had a photo of the inside of my old school.

Your calf is a cutie...I vote for Clyde for a name, too.

    Have a good day!

  7. Every time you have a calf, I'm consumed with envy! I mean, seriously....how can the HOA tell me I can't have an adorable little cow in my backyard?!

He is a cutie.. I vote for Clyde as well.
Glad your well is working correctly. I hate when well problems accure. It's a pain. You never realize how much you really need water till it's gone.

  9. That baby is growing already. So pretty with it's unusual markings. Glad that the pump and light is all fixed now. Those foot valves are something else to replace when going deep. We had a couple of wells like that when we had chicken houses. Good idea to put the pumps underground to keep from freezing. Helen

  10. How about Spot for a name? He is so cute! I'm glad they're both doing well. What does Isis think of the new kid?

Glad it wasn't the pump. Our pump replacement on a 450' well this June was just over $2000! Struck by lightning so insurance paid half. ($1000 deductable eek)

  11. Donna, I, too, wake up in the middle of the night with my mind whirling. Always afraid of what might happen. I try to talk myself down off this treadmill spin. Often, I am awake the rest of the night and then have to go to work the next morn so tired. The next night I fall into bed exhausted.

I have been doing better lately, don't know why but I am thankful for it.

I think Clyde is perfect. Wish I would have thought of it. Vicki

  13. I'm glad the problem with the well was a simple fix. I remember helping pull all that pipe from the well when I was younger, it was exhausting work done without the help of a tractor.

Bonnie's new calf is a cutie. I don't know why but for some reason his features remind me of the old westerns so my suggestion for a name is Hoss.

  14. Hi Donna! Proof positive that I, like you, wake up around three and can't sleep. My brain cells are all firing and excited over the fall sampler we are going to have this week. I think I will be able to pull on a pair of jeans and boots without fainting.

My suggestion for your new cutie of a baby face is Augie. Born in this hot month of August.

  15. He looks like he's wearing a clown's nose. So there's a couple of names to consider -- Barnum or Bailey.

  16. I would call that fine boy Master - for the Master of Ceremonies that Joel Gray played in the 1972 "Cabaret"
