Hamburger stew!!!!

Here's a way to make one pound of hamburger feed a multitude. Onion, garlic, and celery cooked tender with the ground beef as it's browned, then carrots, potatoes, a can of tomatoes, as much water as it takes, some chopped cabbage, and barley. Oh yeah, plenty of pepper and maybe some dried parsley and cumin.

I think I'm starving!

  1. When I was young (and I and all of my friends were often broke)I would sometimes make hamburger soup for everyone. It was super simple, super cheap and people asked for it LOL!

Let's see... 1 lb of hamburger, a can of V-8 juice, 2 cans of Veg-all, a pkg of some kind of 'soup seasoning', and a can of diced tomatos... Brown the hamburger, drain off the fat, throw it and all the other ingredients into a pot and heat... let it simmer for at least 30 minutes and it was ready.. BUT, it tasted best if you put it in the refrigerator, let it cool and then reheated it, don't ask me why LOL.

Yours looks yummy, and better than mine did.
