ramblings

Don't you love it when you get something good in the mail?  Yesterday I received my copy of "Food From My Frontier", Ree Drummond's latest book.  These days, a package in the mail usually means one of Cliff's prescriptions has arrived, so this was a pleasant surprise.  Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to find Cliff's prescriptions in my mailbox.  Anything that helps keep his ticker going is wonderful!

So many of my readers have recommended that we get AAA Auto Club before heading to Canada that I am going to take your advice.  On matters from toilet paper to shoes, my readers have not steered me wrong yet.  I understand that AAA will help us plan our trip; we will need all the help we can get.  I have figured out what we need to do to get a passport, with the help of my Facebook friends.
Phil and Faye (our fellow travelers) were here yesterday evening.  We figured out the times that will work for all four of us and I marked them on the calendar.  We talked about our meal schedule on the road, so we are together on that score.
I have to say, Facebook is a wonderful place to ask for advice and opinions and get some answers quickly.  I've received advice there on subjects ranging from "how to prepare sauerkraut" to "how to get a passport".  I throw out a question and receive answers and suggestions.  People helping people.

Yesterday on my entry "small town stuff" I wondered why the author of a website mostly concerned with guns was linking to my blog.  He left an answer in my comment section, so the mystery is solved.  Both my son and my son-in-law share his enthusiasm for guns, so they will probably enjoy his blog.

  4. Ah, plans for the fabulous Canadian trip -- still jealous but the triple A joining is a really good thing to have (their tour books are super -- and so are their maps!). If you and the family can coordinate feeding time, you guys should get along great together! A fall or spring trip? M.

  6. I'm so jealous you got your cookbook. I have been patiently waiting for mine. Last weekend my hubby and I watched her make up a nice birthday for her hubby. Also watched Ina Garten do the same, so I better not disappoint when his comes around. LOL. I'm glad you were surprised by the mail and this package. We LOVE AAA. It will be worth it, for sure. Especially to help you with the planning. They keep you organized. Take care.
