I deleted a recent post

I had a recent entry about Don Harman, with some pictures that included his wife.  All the pictures I used are readily available on the Internet; some of them came from Facebook, posted by Fox4.
A person left an anonymous comment on that post tonight, asking me to please take her friend's pictures off the blog (speaking of the pictures of Don's wife).
The person asked me to please respect Don's wife's privacy.    She didn't threaten in any way.  (I say "she" because it seemed like a female, but if it was a male, it makes no difference.)  All I know about them is that they are in Kansas City, and their computer is a Mac.
As I said, these photos can be found at other places on the Internet.   However, the plea seemed so genuine that I thought it best to remove that particular post.  Even if it didn't hurt Don's wife, it obviously was causing a friend of hers some distress, and those people have enough heartaches right now without me compounding them.
I'm not totally heartless.

  1. You did the right thing Donna. If it eases the familys pain knowing one less website is talking or posting pictures about this tragic loss, then so be it. Take care.

  2. I don't know. It seems like "anonymous" is an easy way to play with your mind. Why not identify himself/herself? Everyone knows what happened and the photos are public, so?? Still, you are sensitive and kind and that's a good thing. I don't know what I would have done.

  3. Sounds like a "better safe than sorry" situation. I would have removed the post, too.

  5. You? Donna? "Not totally heartless"?

    Hardly.

    Far from it.

For me, I got some of the most ugly, insinutating, nasty, blatantly accusin, baseless "suggestions" and out-and-out statements on Dan Harman, his wife, etc. I couldn't believe how mean, vicious ugly and just patently stupid they were. There was no way I could or would post them.

    Nearly unbelievable.

Anyway, good for you. No surprise at all.
