The angry earth

Seems like Mother Earth is angry, and I can't blame her.  We've never taken very good care of her.  There have always been fires and funnel clouds and people dying, but these things seem to be happening ten times more.

Now we're in a war that really didn't have to happen, and because of that, we are paying half again what foods were costing six months ago.  I feel like we won't be able to fix all the mess people have made.

I sure hope I'm wrong.

Meanwhile, I'm still eating anything I want and having fun, so if the end comes, I'll have some popcorn ready to eat as I watch it.

Cliff had been wanting some waffles a while back, and when he started with them  again, I recalled that somewhere in the house there was a cheap little waffle maker I bought in 2020 that I had used maybe twice.  I found it in the first place I looked.  I asked if he wanted to try it, and he did.  I got everything ready to cook... he did the cooking.  I wasn't hungry, but he kept making more and tossing them my way, and we had so much fun with our little waffle party.  I wasn't hungry, but I'm not going to tell how many I ate.

The doctor today gave me a sleeping pill.  I haven't been sleeping more than four hours a night for a long time, so we'll see what happens now.

It's been a good day.  Well, except I failed getting the right word for Wordle after six straight days of winning.

Things change

I played Wordle in the past, along with some of my facebook friends.  Several of us would let us see how well we did, since you don't have  to see to see your actual word to know where you stand.  As my dementia got worse, I was have trouble with Wordle and stopped playing it.

A month or so ago, I decided to try it again.  Mostly it's just luck anyway, although there are some letters that help if they are in a certain place.  Anyhow, I got every word I tried.  The only thing is that I forget to do it until a day or two... just another gift from dementia.  A couple days ago our grandson, who lives in our old house, came over with his wife.  Her grandfather died with dementia, and as she went to the kitchen to get a cinnamon roll I had just gotten out of the oven, she said, "About the time my grandfather was like you are, my grandma had sticky notes all over the the kitchen."

BINGO!

I now have done four wordles in a row.

Howdy.

Sometime last week, I came to this blog thinking I might say hello just to see if someone came looking.  It takes a lot more time now and I often have to Google to find out how to spell words.  Every day I lose more words, and now I am getting pretty forgetful.  I went to a reunion on my dad's side and did have a good time.  I always tell people I may not be able to say much because I lose my words.  It so far hasn't ruined my days for me.

The one thing that I like doing best is playing on the guitar and singing every song I know in the old three hymnals from the 1950's.  I used to know many of them by heart, but that's gone.  But for some reason I can sing them just fine as long as the words are in front of me.  I generally sing for an hour starting at five o'clock.  The doctor told me I had better keep that up or you won't be able to.  Others have told me that too.  Don't be surprise if I leave out a word or mispell some.

Let's see if anybody stumbles in.

We four girls were all born in 1944.  I'm the oldest.
