My son just said, "Dude, they found mushrooms?"

We've been a hunting... nothing so far. You must be a bit warmer than we are here in Southern Iowa.

(Personally... I'm glad there isn't a good crop... :gag:... I don't care for morels.) LOL

Oh Donna!!! You are making my mouth water!!!

Someone told me they recently had a morel festival at Irvine, KY and they were selling them for $40 a pound.

Aw, MAN! You're killin' me here, Donna! I'd like to reach right through the monitor and snatch some of those morels right out of that iron skillet. It'd be worth the 3rd degree burns, LOL! ;o)

My sister Donna and I went poke salad picking last Wednesday and looked for mushrooms at the same time. We didn't find a single mushroom, I'm sad to say, but we did get enough poke for a couple of messes each.

Maybe tomorrow when you're using words again you can post your best mushroom recipe to the Marx Foods blog - we're having a mushroom contest and the winner will be mailed 2 lbs. of Morels (although it looks like you hit the jackpot and may not need any more!). Recipes can be submitted to http://marxfood.com. Beautiful pictures by the way!

Donna, so glad you got your package okay! No, I did not crochet the doily/scarf. I got that at an antique mall and thought you might like it.

Now those morels are making my mouth water again!!

Ahh. Finally I know how these are prepared and eaten. Interesting shapes, these morel mushrooms.
