Television news

Ever since we've had a DVR, we have made a habit of recording an hour or so of the morning local news. Our choice was Fox 4; it seems like they advertise twice as much as any other local channel, but we enjoyed watching their news team kid around.  They gave us a lot of early-morning laughs.
That all stopped when their weatherman died.  I'm no longer using his name in any posts, because I don't like the Google searches that lead people here when I mention his name.
After his suicide, Cliff and I immediately stopped recording the morning news on Fox 4, and switched to Channel 5.  We attempted to watch their news for a couple of days, but I don't think we've even looked at it for a week now.  I may as well stop recording the morning news altogether.
I've been getting my weather forecast on the Internet at weather.com.  As for news, I don't pay much attention to the stinkin' depressing news anyhow, although I do get some news updates from local TV stations on Facebook.  Oh, and then there's Tony's Kansas City, and KC Confidential.  The comment sections on those two blogs are a real study in human nature.

So I'm thinking Cliff and I probably aren't the only ones who abandoned Fox 4.  I'll bet their ratings are in the tank.

This has nothing to do with my post, but I found it on Facebook and felt like it's a good reminder.

  2. I get all my news online. If they have a website you can too. Cuts out all the nonsense. Take care.

  3. I don't have a DVR so the internet has been my news source for a while now. The only TV broadcast that I'm awake and home for is the noon farm report ~
