You guys wear me out

If you readers could be a mouse (the four-legged kind) in my computer room sometimes, you'd have to laugh at me.

Over on the right, down the page a little, you'll see the most recently updated entries in some of the blogs I read, along with a snippet of what's been written on them. I read a variety of blogs authored by people from all walks of life; some of them tend to use a little colorful language from time to time. If that language is used in the title of an entry, the offending words show up on my blog.

Picture me getting up in the morning, turning on the computer, seeing curse words on my blog, shrieking, and hurriedly removing the offending blog from my list. After a few days with no bad words in their opening lines, I'll add them again, figuring they got it out of their systems for awhile.

I've been known to remove Midtown Miscreant, the Russian, and Remo at various times. Not that I'm offended by them, mind you. And I certainly wouldn't censor them for the world; I just don't want f-bombs on my blog. This morning as I once again removed Remo, I had to laugh at myself. As soon as the offending post falls off at the bottom, I'll likely put him back on my list. He is funny, after all.

You guys certainly keep me on my toes.

Geesh. The F-word was on my blog all night, while I was sleeping; and I didn't even know it.

  1. I only used "foul language" once and never in the title. I read some of this stuff at work and know not to use any bad stuff. It must have been a slip-up.

  2. Danged if I remember what it was about, Meesha. Anyhow, I put you back on. There are some blogs I read that I know better than to link to, like Tony's KC for instance.

  3. Funny entry.

I guess some entries are just too brightly colorful for comfort. Freedom of expression is well and very much alive there.

  4. I do the same Donna... I listed one blog and then the F-bomb appeared in the title and I d-listed... I don't care if it's in the text, just not the title. I feel my blog is an extension of my home and I don't allow foul language there either.

  5. Blogging can be like being in a room with everyone you've ever known. You may love them all, but don't necessarily want them all talking to each other!

  6. When I first started my journal Aol e-mailed me and wanted me to remove the words bull shit from my entry. I did but it sure aggravated me because that took away from the meaning as we country girls know bull shit is impossible to ignore. lol

  7. I have a subscribe button on my toolbar so any of the new blogs I add do not show in the readers list on sidebar. If you have a google toolbar you should find a subscribe to google reader add button to put there.

  8. I have a blog on my sidebar that shows up as a Blogger: Content Warning on my sidebar. I guess some can set their blogs to this mode so what happened on your sidebar doesnt happen? I am not offended, but I dont want that to be the first thing I see with coffee in the morning either. ;)
