Thank you, Anne!

My good Kansas/Arizona blogging buddy, Anne (who doesn't blog enough, by the way), read my post "Bury me like a Jew" and sent me an interesting link which aroused my curiosity concerning a PBS show about home burial.

Now, I don't think I would care for a home burial. After all, property changes hands often these days, and I can just see the neighbor who once told me she hoped I'd "die and rot in hell" coming over to spit on my grave every few days. Or dance on it, or smoke pot on it. Whatever.

But I'm very interested in this subject. So much so that I re-joined Netflix in order to watch "Point Of View: A Family Undertaking".

I can quit Netflix again, once I've watched it.

  1. You are a hoot! I never thought about a nasty neighbor spitting on my grave but I have to agree with you, I wouldn't like it either!

  4. I can't imagine anyone spitting on your grave, Donna! Perhaps they may dance for the joy of loving you . . . who knows. Personally I am with you. Give me a pine box, cremate me and get it done. I know where I will be. Hugz and blessings, Penny

  5. Your post was food for thought. I am on the cremation bandwagon myself. But there is a lot to be said for the simplicity and efficiency of the Orthodox Jewish way. I'd be willing to bet that there are exceptions to any local burial regulations when it comes to religious beliefs. But I also bet you'd have to BE Jewish and use a Jewish funeral home and cemetery to take advantage of any loop-holes.
