a hit counter

I'm trying to figure out how to add a hit counter to this blog. I know I shouldn't care, but I do. Help, anyone?

  1. Donna - go to tracksy.com. They have a good free hit counter (it's the one I use), and I think you can just auto-assign it to your template without having to go through a ton of changes.
I am researching your template right now - I'll get back to you on how to add a photo pretty quick here, okay?

  2. I don't have one on my Blogger Blog, but I've heard the ones at sitemeter.com are pretty good. If you don't like them, try googling for them, I know there are several free ones out there!

  3. Okay! I did it. I started a blog using your same template (Washed Denim), and the way to put an image into your masthead takes a few steps, but it's fairly easy overall.
Here's the blog URL for my "demo":

I put all the steps right on the first post so you can print it out and go step-by-step.
But seriously? If I can recommend one thing more strongly than any other? Get a Flickr account. It's neat, and you can put a badge up like the one in my sidebar with all your pics on a continuous flash slideshow. Or there are a lot of other ways to show your pics in other Flickr badges.
Now I'm gonna go look at how to change my background color on there. Fun! (not being sarcastic either. It IS fun! Thanks for the excuse to make another blog!)

  4. Hi Donna,

I use site meter. I just set it up, grab the code and then add a page element for HTML/JavaScript and plop the code in.

    It's pretty easy.

Shout if you need more help.

  6. Well it does sound as if you have the 'BAH HUMBUG VIRUS' I read a report from the North Pole that Santa says all the Reindeer are down with it. It takes 3 to 4 weeks to run it's course, but never fear Santa knows what to do and Christmas will happen on schedule as always ! Be Happy Be Glad Rejoice our dear Lord and Savior was born for us. What wonderful news the Angels sang !!!
