It's a nice Christmas morning

I'm listening to K.T. Oslin singing "Blue Christmas". Hers happens to be my favorite version of that song, even though I never particularly cared for her music as a whole.

I had a couple of gifts to check out, gifts given to me last weekend. I think the givers wanted me to open them up right then, but knowing Cliff and I weren't actually exchanging gifts, I wanted to save them for today. Notice the nifty Harley-Davidson bag: When Charlene and Pat get me something at Harley Davidson, I know it's going to be something I like... even though we ride a Honda Gold Wing.

It's a bag/purse that attaches to a belt-loop; it'll hold my camera and some folding money, and any other little items that come in handy on a motorcycle ride. I love it! Thanks, Charlene and Pat.

My daughter's mother-in-law is so creative when it comes to buying thoughtful little Christmas presents; she gave me a nice queen-sized Christmas coffee mug with some sugar-free candy inside.

Meanwhile the noodles have been rolled out....

and cut and unrolled, just the way Grandma used to do it.

They're now laid out on a counter, just waiting to be dropped into the chicken-broth.

I mixed up the roll dough an hour ago...

And it's already risen this much.

Now to peel potatoes. No, first I think I'll take a shower and get out of these pajamas.

Merry Christmas to all (for at least the fourth time, right?)

I make homemade egg noodles exactly the same way, Donna.

I'll be heading to my daughter's house for Christmas in just a bit. She's doing the cooking this year, which suits me fine.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, my friend.

Love,

Diane

Merry Christmas Donna and Cliff-
Looks like a wonderful meal in the making.
If you get a chance could you post the recipe for the noodles. I just use the ones that come in a bag but....I would be willin' to change immediately if you could post it. I remember my grandma making them once or twice but I don't remember her using a recipe. Probably one that was in her head. Kind of the way I cook too. A little of this and a little of that...whatever I have on hand.

We make noodles the same way here at my house. None for me today as what I had came frozen and heated up in the micro wave...just don't want to do all that for my self. My special Christmas gift is babysitting for DS#6's dogs while they party at his wife's folks house. Last Saturday was our celebration. Merry Christmas!

Oh Mo, you look so cute in those pink PJ's. That noodle recipe is just like my mothers' and my grandmas' I haven't made them in years. Anne

I am so late getting around to journals... Christmas and three kids has wiped me out but I had to see how your Christmas day was and to my delight you put beautiful pictures of your noodles and bread and gifts and the tree in the background... what a wonderful entry! Hope you had a wonderful day and a happy new year Donna! I still think of you each time I use that lovely video camera. I've been using it a lot lately. Look for many video postings in my journal as the year goes on. I'm having a blast with it.
