Will it snow?

The weather guessers are all saying they aren't sure what will happen with the snow:  It could come as freezing rain, there may be three-to-four inches of snow, or we may have 12 inches of snow; no matter what, it will come Sunday.  Whatever we get (or don't), it's going to be very cold after Sunday.  I'll be dealing with making sure the goats and Mama Kitty get a good drink every day, because all they'll have is ice most of the time.

December has put me in a place where I don't even know what day it is.  With Christmas and New Year being in the middle of the week, I never knew what day it was, and I'm still having trouble.  For instance, I get my Social Security the second Wednesday of each month, but two days ago (the first Wednesday of the month) I was looking at my bank's website to see if my money had arrived; when it wasn't there, I thought I had a big problem... where's my money?  I called the bank, but before anyone answered, I realized my mistake and cancelled my call.

It seemed like December was never going to end, and January isn't going to be much better.  At least I have several library books to read.  All my holds are coming at once, so I let some of them go back for awhile so someone else can read them until I am ready.

Cliff and I both had colds three or four weeks ago, but Cliff just wasn't getting over it, so he finally went to the doctor and got an antibiotic and something for his cough.  I hope it works, because that constant coughing, spitting, and hacking has worried me.  It seems like there's a lot of sickness around lately.

I'm still managing to get my walk in five days a week, but I doubt if I do it next week; if the snow doesn't stop me, the temperature will!

That's all I have.  I hope the folks north and east of us are ready for this mess.

I wish they didn’t tell us two weeks early about the storm and cold. I have to spend more time worrying about what could be. The weather man loves bad news and he loves sharing it with me. I do believe this year I have moved from not liking winter to hating it. My mind seems to not like a lot of stuff these days and I spend too much time pondering the drear.

I'm with the above commenter, I wish they'd wait til a day or two before the event to announce wicked weather. They change it a bit every day as it is. I'd rather have to fret for just one day than spend 2 weeks worrying. Well, at least Gary has worked on 3 different generators, getting them going. Rebecca in SW MO

  3. I'm far enough north that I'm on the north edge of this storm but the weather forecasts for us are just as vague. There is no freezing rain forecasted for us, thankfully, but the amounts of snow are predicted to be anything from a dusting to half a foot as of this comment. Fortunately we have nothing planned, a fireplace and plenty of wood and books to read.

    1. I should have gotten a great job when I was young so I'd have enough money to spend the winter in Texas, like my sister did.

  4. It's the same here in the UK. Fortunately, I am too far north to be bothered by the foot of the white stuff they are promising in England. Take care.

I ordered my groceries from Walmart and pick them up tomorrow around 4:00. I’m going to make a big pot of hamburger and vegetable soup. We will be ready. My grandson is figuring out rides on snow / ice days I live on a steep hill. Cheers and a Happy New Year to you and Cliff. Gabby Gengler

  6. As you know, I'm dealing with the same mess. Good luck to Cliff. As far as the snow? All I can tell you for sure is that you'll either get bad weather or you won't. It's the same here. All these dire predictions, and then...nothing. I've begun not to pay much attention to any of it. It is supposed to be cold here next week as well.

It is a good time to stay close to home and make soups!

    1. I don't think I'll bother this year. Those cups aren't really much good for drinking coffee because the paint comes off of the outside when you actually use them. And I really don't need more cups anyway. I will be reading, though! My Libby app lets me have free books from the library. I am truly thankful for that.

You know me (Sonya). I’m often one to worry. But prayer helps. I have to give the unknowns to Him. I was worried sick on vacation as my grandson was coughing and sounding bad. Prayers relieved my worry some. Take care. Keep warm.

  9. We're forecast to get the same weather on the western side of Missouri. It's supposed to start about bedtime tomorrow night, so we'll follow our usual pattern of going to church and out to dinner before coming home to hunker down.

    1. What I don't like is freezing rain, and it seems we are supposed to get that this evening before it switches over to snow.

  10. Those temperatures are brutal! We aren't getting hit and in fact, our winter seems mild so far. It hasn't even dropped below freezing very often. I hope I don't have to eat my words! Better health to Cliff!
