Just checking in

First of all, I want to thank my anonymous commenter for suggesting that I buy Dr. Scholl's shoes at Walmart.  They are very comfortable shoes, and they only cost me $30 plus tax.
Please, anonymous commenters, give a first name when you leave a comment (like Karen, Pat, Lindie and others do), so I can get to know you.  I realize many bloggers don't like to allow anonymous comments, but if you have the word verification in place, it won't get you a lot of spam; and it will allow you to make more Internet friends.  Some of my favorite regular readers comment anonymously and simply sign a first name.
While I'm on the subject of blogs and bloggers, I do wish the people whose blogs I read would list an email address on their profiles; sometimes I'd like to say something to them that isn't appropriate to leave in a comment.
If you look over on the left side of this blog and scroll all the way down, just above my mother's picture you'll see "Rachel" and "Donna" listed as contributors.  Rachel is my daughter; she's only listed so that in case I croak, she can get on my blog and tell you.  I'm Donna; click on my name.  On the left-hand side of my profile you will see "contact me" followed by my email address.  This way, if you'll like to tell me something but don't want to comment publicly, you can do it.  Just put something in the subject line so I'll know it's from a reader.
Here's an interesting item:  The last entry I did here about the logging has been shared on Facebook eighteen times.  I guess folks find the fact that we got paid for our logs an item of interest worth sharing!
Oh, here's something:  Notice the picture at the top of my blog is smaller now?  That's because Picasa, the site that hosts pictures for Blogger, says I've reached my limit for free pictures.  However, I can use pictures smaller than a certain megapixel limit and they are allowed; hence the shrunken header picture.  For five dollars per year, I could add bigger pictures, and Cliff says to do that... I owe it to "my people", he says.  So far I'm balking because I already have a paid flickr account; Blogger should let me use that for my headers photos but it doesn't.  I can use flickr for any pictures in my blog entries, though.

  1. Hummm, I didn't know that you could get Dr. Scholl's shoes at Walmart.
Cheap compared to other name brands. I'll try to remember that next time I need a new pair.

  2. Last year I was told I'd reached my limit on pictures so I went through and deleted a bunch of old ones from years ago. Some that had come over on my aol archives. Now I can add them again. Next time it fills up I'll do the same. The pictures are saved here on my own computer so it was ok to delete them. Just a thought for you anyway. Hope your Wednesday is a great one!

  3. Cliff is right. I prefer the larger picture too as it gives me more to work with.

  4. all you have to do is start another account on picasa, like Donna1 or whatever, has to be a valid email,so you can use your aol, it doesn't matter. I am currently filling the 3rd allotment :-)

  5. also on your comments, is there a way you can make them like David's where you can click "subscribe by email" even after I left the comment.I find it a lot more convenient.

Don't croak! I am going to check out the Walmart in Belton to see if they have those shoes. I need another pair. Header is fine. You can still add pictures to your blog anyway, can't you? How about that 3 way tie in Iowa? All your anonymous commentors need to do is click on name and put there name there. No big deal.

  8. I like the bigger picture too. You always have such good ones I want to really see them well. With these trifocals I do well to see anything. ha!

Enjoyed your logging post too. We had some done here as the pine groves were getting very crowded and I guess it's not good for the trees. I don't know how much we got but it was well worth having done for the roads they had to put in to get to all the trees and now I have those to ride on.

  9. Glad you found a pair of comfortable shoes. My hubby swears by his Dr. Scholl's. I never added an e-mail link to my blog. I figured nobody had anything to say to me, outside of comments. Maybe I'll reconsider? I LOVE it. Cliff is refering to your PEEPS. Take care.

  10. I bought a pair of Dr. Scholl's shoes (kind of a really short boot style) about 6 years ago for my daughter when she needed some quick black shoes for a play. She never wore them again, but I tried them one day when I needed some bad weather shoes. They are the warmest and most comfortable shoes in my closet.
