Sorry, readers

I turned off word verification on my comments here yesterday, and I immediately started getting the comments with porn links again. Since some of you have a problem with word verification, I'm going to do this another way: I won't publish comments until I've read them. That way you don't have to fiddle with typing in a word, your comments will show up as soon as I've read them, and everybody (hopefully) will be happy. I probably could disallow anonymous comments and get rid of the porn problem, but I like to hear from all my readers.

    You just do what you have to do to keep that off your blog. I had several the same day you did at first and just deleted the comments and thank goodness I haven't had any more. Knock on wood though. Helen

    I do the same. As you say some of our readers are listed as anonymous so I just check comments be posting them.

    I had to turn on word verification for the first time in a really long time the other day! I woke up to an ad for Viagra on my blog! Apparently some people have way too much time on their hands.

    I haven't had much of that hit me, thank goodness. I did get spammed something fierce when I used Bravenet. Supposedly they had Spam filters but I came on one day to find hundreds of spam comments spattered all thru my blog entries. Boy, did that FRY me! I started to delete them, then gave up.

    Oh Donna...I wondered why you had all that to get a comment posted as you always make things so easy for all of us...and considering my computer savy I appreciate it LOL..and sorry you have that porn problem...so far so good for me...but????? and again thanks...hugs..Ora

    I'm sorry the porn sites hit you again. I do appreciate you trying to make it easier for us to comment but please don't make it harder on yourself for us to do so.

    Donna,I don't use it, but what I did do is turn on moderation for posts over 15 days old. It's caught all the spam so far.
