It's a purple finch or house finch, hard to tell with the females and it's not breeding season so their plumage isn't as bright and easy to discern the difference. Maybe she's eating bugs that are after the sugar water??? They may even like the nectar, I don't know. Hmmm......
At least it wasn't a squirrel.

ReplyDeleteOne year we had house finches drink the juice from several feeders but that year was the only time they did that. Helen
