So, I guess it's another $100 camera for me

Thanks for your input on my camera problem, Dave and Meesha.  Since I can get a new Canon SD Powershot for about $100 at Best Buy online and get it sent without any shipping charge, that's probably what I'll do.  I couldn't find any source that was cheaper.
There's no sense in my getting a camera with highfalutin' features, because I wouldn't use them.  If you look in the dictionary under "point-and-shoot", you'll probably see me mentioned in the description somewhere.  I don't like to change settings.
I could most likely get some other kind of point-and-shoot camera cheaper, but I hate change, and this is the third one of these little prizes I've owned.  I know it like the back of my hand.  I like the way the lithium battery stays charged up for weeks, even with fairly heavy use.  I am one person you won't see at some one-time event saying, "Oh darn, the batteries are run down."
I like the way the Powershot fits in a pocket, since it's about the same size as a pack of cigarettes.  I like the videos I take with it.
My Powershots have never done me anything but right.  The one I had before this one still worked when I retired it, even after I sat on it; the viewfinder was busted, but the camera took pictures just fine.

  1. That's why I stay with the Kodak easyshare; I know how to use it and it travels well. The video is OK. The battery isn't very good, but then it's an old camera! In my mind, $100 is plenty to pay for a camera.

  2. I have a Canon PowerShot S5 IS whatever that means. The reason I haven't posted photos on my blog is because I'm still learning about it. Good luck with your new camera. If it's one you're familar and comfortable with, things should be a snap.

They are able to make the best pictures.
Wishing you always happy and nice sights to see; and a good new week ahead as well.

  4. I've also had a Canon for years. This one is Rebel slr and we love it. I've purchased a few extra lenses and flashes and the pics are perfect. I know some don't like Canon but I do.

I bought this camera last week at Best Buy...FYI~it does not come with an SD card (not that they are expensive to buy in addition to the camera, but in case your previous model did not use the SD card, be prepared to need one) It is so small & light-weight. I also prefer to leave in the automatic mode and not fool with the settings!

  6. I was just saying, I wish I had time to take a digital camera class. I have a new camera but I'm still learning how to use everything but the "all auto" setting. Some of my photos come out pretty wonky when I try a different setting. Simple is best, in my book.
