Silly horses

Horses aren't Cliff's favorite animal. Although they're a step above goats on his bad list. For instance, they always hang out right by the gate. So if he wants to get through on the tractor, unless he has somebody to open the gate and shoo off the horses, it's a race trying to get through, get off the tractor, and shut the gate before the horses run through.

For the life of me, I don't understand why they want in the lot; there's no good grass, only weeds. But when they gain access to the place, they pick at those short weeds as though it was alfalfa.

Maybe they just want to visit with the cats. (You may want to click on this one to enlarge it.)

This picture has nothing to do with the rest of the entry; it's just that I spent time in the round pen with Libby, and she's so lovely I couldn't resist taking a picture.

I do have one slight problem with the filly: I get her circling inside the round pen like she's supposed to, easily enough. But when I make her turn (which she does, right on cue) she turns her hindquarters toward me and kicks out as she turns. She's not close to me, so there's no danger. But I have a feeling she needs some sort of attitude adjustment.

So it's off to Google to try and find some answers.

Looking for articles like THIS ONE, for instance.

Love the picture commentary. And if I lived close by, I would want one of those beautiful cats (and my dd would want to ride your horses). ?And we'd love the country so we'd never want to leave. And,....you're not going to invite us, are you? LOL.
    Blessings,
