Michaela, over at Sprout 'n' Wings Farm, put a video on her blog today that makes me wonder what she is giving her guineas to drink: Surely something with alcohol! You can go over there to watch it if you like, but I'm sharing the video here for my fowl-loving readers. Watch the backward guinea go!
There's gotta be one in every crowd, huh?
ReplyDeleteSometime I feel like that backward guinea and I don't even drink. Funny, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI would hate to play follow the leader with him!! Very funny. They look young, maybe he's thinking food will pop up in front of him if he goes backwards!! haha
ReplyDeleteVery funny. He's obviously marching to the beat of his own drummer.
ReplyDeleteHe had just taken a dirt bath and then did this. I searched the web trying to find out if it was a courtship ritual. I found nothing. But I did find where someone else had said their guinea took a dirt bath and then started running backwards. Who knows?? Should I cut back on the Guiness I have been serving them? lol
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a big flock of them but I have never seen one do this. It must have had a head injury.

My sister says he had probably eaten something bad, like something fermented. Check your feed for fungi. As funny as it was to watch, it could be a symptom of something very bad.
ReplyDeleteThe other ones just seem to follow him too!
