A change in plans

We were planning to ride to Eagleville today when my daughter told me our grandson Brett was going to be at their house today with his family for a Mother's Day barbecue.  Cliff and I had never met our latest great-grandchild in person, so we immediately shifted gears.

Here's Cliff, getting acquainted with Daniel, who is three months old and smiles and "talks" up a storm.  Kevin did his usual wonderful job at the grill.  Rachel wasn't having a great day.
It was probably for the best that we didn't ride the bike a hundred miles today:  it's unseasonably cold, and it wouldn't have been a very fun ride.

Look!  My first tomato!  Unfortunately, it might not make it to the ripening stage; it's a Rutger, which is a non-blight-resistant variety.  I can already see signs of blight on the plant.  The other tomato plants are still looking very healthy, though.

  2. I guess I would have changed my plans too. The opportunity to meet a new grandchild is exciting. Hope Rachel is feeling better soon.

  3. Looks WORTH every minute you spent with that adorable little fella. GREAT photo of Cliff and him. Sorry to hear about Rachel having a bad day. It isn't easy, i know. if you can... please keep my daughter in your prayers. They just discovered 3 spots on her lungs. she's never smoked. And a big mass on her liver. They're going to do a biopsy soon. I know you just went through all this. I am praying with all my heart these things are benign. She has two small children. You never know what the good Lord is going to throw your way. Last week everything was in transition about something else. This week we are confronted with this. take care.
