A walk around the yard

The main thing I'm getting from Miss Springtime right now is promises, but I do have a couple of blooms showing.

The tiny crocuses, for instance.  But they're so small!

The pansies I put out just last weekend are already getting with the program.

I won't have long to wait on this daffodil!

These are buds on the lilac bush.

Hyacinths are getting ready to show off, but no color yet.

The day lilies survived the winter,

as did the Iris.

The peaches are about ready to bloom, which rather worries me:  According to the forecast, our temperatures are supposed to dip below freezing Friday or Saturday night.  I'd sure hate to lose my peaches.

And now, I leave you with Bonnie-the-Jersey-cow, who has lots of cud to chew now that there's green grass growing.

Your flowers are looking good, by next week they'll be beautiful. Bonnie is such a cutie. Vicki

  2. We are to get colder here too. I see all kinds of green leaves popping up but most are surrounded by leaves so I'm hoping that the cold won't bother them much. I'm waiting awhile to clean out the beds. No buds are on the trees here yet but give us a couple of warm days and they will come. Your Bonnie is a treasure!

  3. Um, I just looked up "cud" and, well, eww. I have heard the expression before, but didn't know what it was. I guess ignorance is bliss for a city girl, LOL!

  4. We got 8 inches of snow last night so I hope I didn't have anything coming up which I don't think is the case. I couldn't believe it when I got up this morning and everything was covered with soft fluffy snow! I posted a few pictures.

Loved your post on the calves and the picture of you barefoot milking the cow. I always went barefoot too but now my feet hurt if I do too long.....sigh....

  5. It seems as though, what with all the precipitation we've been getting and now all the very warm and humid weather we've also gotten, that things are just going to explode from the ground. We'll see.

  6. I alway loved the smell of a cow on green grass, only a farm person would know that smell and call it good.

  7. No sprouts up here yet but soon. Very soon. I am chewing my cud though.
We're back from the Gulf so I hope visit more regularly.

  8. I think I may have a little bit of Bonnie in me. I too like to sit around chewing, too content to even swat the flies off myself. lol
