This didn't put me in a panic, since they always give a much bigger window of time than is actually used. Now, two hours later, I'm in business.
With the Internet down, I decided to nose through some more old junk.
I used to send letters to the editor at the Kansas City Star (there was no Internet back then, I had to vent somewhere), and some of those letters were printed. Here's a sample:
I found a poem I wrote (still one of my favorites of all I've written) that was printed in "Countryside and Small Stock Journal".

For some reason, I didn't take a lot of pictures of my kids in the mid-seventies. This is on my daughter's birthday; my mom had made her a "Sunbonnet Sue" cake. It's probably 1976. I do believe she has the same expression here as in that "four generation" shot.
There was a time (1995) when my son and his family were in Germany and my daughter and her husband and baby lived in Branson; I had some grandchildren, but I certainly wasn't getting to enjoy them. A young lady in town was in need of a babysitter for her six-month-old son, and Cliff and I instantly had a baby to enjoy! We watched Cody until he was about two, I believe, and we absolutely loved him to pieces. He was a gift from heaven.
