Back in the old days, you could be really ugly and still be a country star.
You could wear huge wigs and other huge stuff, but if the songs you wrote rang true, it was OK.
And back in the old days, nobody worried about copyright rules, so you could listen and watch whatever you wanted.
You could enjoy the music, even though the artist was a low-life.
OK, I guess that last one applies now, even more than in the old days.
The music industry has always had their share of bad boys. Though it does seem worse in this day and age. What I always loved was the big hair and wigs. Made the songs being sung, priceless.

ReplyDeleteNot ugly, what we used to call homely. But those ladies in the background! i saw him in concert years ago and it was his voice that was great! And Dolly's too.
