This is the water tower located across the street from my daughter's house.
Buzzards have decided it makes a delightful roost. They'll soon be leaving for the winter; it will be interesting to see whether they return to this roost in the spring.
Okay. Important tip. Do not park under the water tower. Gotcha. Buzzard poop reeks.
ReplyDeleteInteresting place to roost. Buzzards are such ugly birds, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteWe have a park in northern Ohio that always celebrates buzzard day and they do return every year at the same time in the Spring. It will be interesting to see if these do. I hope you update us when Spring comes. Fall is just beginning here and I'm already waiting for Spring. Hope your Wednesday is a wonderful one!
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked at the post office one of the rural carriers relayed a story of coming up on a vulture feeding on a dead animal in the middle of the road and it flew up and barfed all over her car. There is a microwave tower near the house, constructed similar to your picture, where they are sometimes seen. I too wonder if they will return when they come back in the spring
ReplyDeleteThat's cool. I've never seen a buzzard to my knowledge.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. That sky is beautiful. Oct has very pretty blue skies. Helen
ReplyDeleteWe see them here occasionally but not in the towers. Guess I wouldn't park under one of them...... They are kind of ugly but do a good service cleaning up roadkill.
ReplyDeleteDon't think the buzzards ever leave our area.
