Robbie tagged me for this.
A-Available or Single? Strange choices. I'm not available (except of course to Cliff) and I'm not single.
B-Best Friend: I have never cultivated friends much. My husband, Cliff, is my best friend, hands down. Growing up, it's a good thing I had cousins, or I'd never have had anybody to play with!
C-Cake or Pie: Pie! Preferably warm fruit pie with ice cream.
D-Drink of Choice: These days I'd say water, since I have a daily goal of drinking 8 cups of it; by the time you drink that much water, there isn't room for much else.
E-Essential Item(s): My Canon Powershot camera, the computer, coffee in the morning
F- Favorite Color(s): blue
G- Gummi Bears or Worms? I don't like gummy-candy. If I must choose, I'll take bears.
H- Hometown: My parents moved so much when I was young, it's hard to say: I've always felt like Eagleville, Missouri, was my hometown because although we only lived there three years, lots of relatives were there, so we returned often to visit. In some ways I consider Kansas City as my home town. As far as where I've lived the longest, that would be the little burg on whose outskirts I live and blog right now.
I- Indulgence: Horses. An expensive steak every once in awhile.
J- January or February: February, only because it's shorter and closer to spring.
K- Kids: I bore two, only to find out they aren't just toys or pets that you can play with and then put on a shelf. They require time, effort, and money. Much more than I invested. They do grow up. Thank God they've made it so far, although not unscathed. But they seem to have good times.
L- Life is incomplete without: a pet
M- Marriage Date: June 16, 1966
N- Number of Siblings: When my mom and dad married, Daddy came equipped with a son and a daughter (his first wife died in childbirth). My brother, Jack, passed away some years ago. My wonderful sister is in her late 70's and is the healthiest person I know... she exercises, stays slim and trim, isn't even on blood pressure meds. She married when I was two, so I was pretty much raised like an only child.
O- Oranges or Apples? Apples, specifically Fuji apples. I like oranges, but you have to take all that time peeling them.
P- Phobias/Fears: I can't think of any fear of mine that's serious enough to call it a phobia. As much as I enjoy riding the motorcycle with Cliff, sometimes a fearful thought crosses my mind when we're riding, like, "What would happen to me if I went flying through a barbed-wire fence?" or, "What would happen to us if a tire blew out?"
Q- Favorite Quote: "Home is the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in."
R- Reasons to smile: babies and toddlers, sunrises, the antics of pets, vacation plans, the twenty-third Psalm... I could fill a page with these.
S- Season: Summer
T- Tag Three: I won't tag anybody. If you want to do the meme, just let me know you did it, OK?
U- Unknown Fact About Me: I did not date until I was twenty years old.
V – Vegetarian or Oppressor of Animals? I like meat. Although these days I keep it to a four-ounce-or-less serving at home. Which is probably why I get these cravings at least once a month for steak!
W- Worst Habit(s): Telling people what I really think. At least I guess it's my worst habit, since Cliff is constantly mortified and embarrassed by my speaking my mind.
X – X-rays or Ultrasounds? Neither one hurts does it? Doesn't the insurance pay for them both? Then I don't care which.
Y- Your Favorite Foods: Pizza Hut Super Supreme Pan Pizza, hand-tossed crust. Anything with ice cream, especially chocolate malts.
Z- zodiac? Cancer
I found yours quite interesting. I didn't know about the sibling situation. We have speaking minds in common and the color blue, also the moving around a lot.
ReplyDeleteLoved your meme answers, makes me feel like I know you better. I have embarrassed my husband a few times by being rather blunt. Once at a horse show I was rather upset because the judge flipped a coin to get the winner as I was tied with a man and he had already put his horse up and we couldn't do the trail class again to break the tie. I thought I should have won as I was still standing there with my horse ready to ride again. Anyway to make a long story short I kind of mouthed off at the man saying it wasn't fair that he won from the flipping of a coin. Now it seems really foolish and funny but at that time I was putting points on my mare and I wanted those points. Oh brother, the things we get upset about that really don't matter. Should get upset about the things that DO matter. Great meme!
ReplyDeleteI did it - in my journal.
ReplyDeleteWe share a camera, a zodiac sign and an appreciation of meat. Lovely quote! :)
