Jenny is trying to get blood from a turnip here. She had over a half-gallon of milk for breakfast after I got my share of the milk, but she doesn't want to wait until her mom has time to make some more milk. Notice the snow is gone except for a couple of small piles way out on the hillside.
Tuesday is weigh-day, and I was quite happy with the results. I set 160 pounds as my goal when I started, and I have no doubt that I'll reach that goal within the next month. Here's the quandary: Should I set another goal? I realize my ideal weight is somewhere below 140 according to THIS, but nothing about me has ever been ideal. Since I am eating the way I intend to be eating for the rest of my life, I think I will stop having a goal weight. Oh, I am going to weigh every day, you may be sure of that. But I am really not focusing on numbers. If I continue to lose weight as I eat the same way I've been doing, wonderful. But once I reach 160, my new goal is going to be to not GAIN weight. We will continue to eat out only once a week. We will continue to limit snacks. We will not have second helpings. I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing now, because it's something I can live with.
CONGRATS. I think having a goal weight is fine as long as you do not become obsessed with it. Being healthy is more important than being thin.
ReplyDeleteI'd say maintaining your goal would be the thing. It's not easy once a goal is met. Lots of folks tend to splurge and gain it back again.
ReplyDeletethat quote is oh so true! Sometimes maintaining is more difficult than losing or gaining so I say whatever you choose to do, you'll do great!
