I'm going to have a baby

Yes, I just turned sixty-nine.  It's a miracle, right?
Or not.
Adam and Amber, who board their horses here, are due to become parents in August.  I have volunteered to be the babysitter of their little girl, Cora.
It will mean a little extra money coming in, but that isn't why I'm doing it.  Cliff and I simply miss having babies in our life, so I told Adam early on that we would be available if he needed a sitter.  I told him we would spoil her rotten.  Tonight we had a long talk about the situation, and it looks like it's going to work well for everybody.  At least we hope it will work until Cora is old enough to go to the local day care.
If her parents give me permission, I will be posting pictures.  If not, I will be telling plenty of stories about her, anyhow.
I can't wait!

  2. I thought it was one of your animals, but it's a human baby!! Very cool. My MIL did this until into her 80s. She babysat both our girls until Ashley was in 1st grade.

  4. Babies are a joy. Since I retired I've had my fair share of babysitting and I've loved every moment.. I'm sure you enjoy it too!
