Knee report

The orthopedist put a shot of cortizone in my replacement knee, and now that I've rested up from the gardening yesterday, my other knee doesn't hurt either!  The doctor was all for my taking glucosamine and said "Keep it up!"

He scheduled me for an outpatient surgery in a couple of weeks on the other knee, but because it's been so much better the past few days, I am going to call and postpone that.  We have so many things going on in June, and I don't want to miss a thing!

I'm telling you, you should try out glucosamine/chondroitin.  You have to give it two or three weeks to start working, but if it doesn't help you, you aren't out anything but the price of the pills.  And why go on hurting if there's a possibility it might help?  Yes, even if it's all in your head.

I got out of bed this morning without limping.

  1. So glad it's working and that you're feeling better. Knee issues are horrible. My ex-gymnast daughter has a gimpy knee that doesn't allow her to run sometimes. I shudder to think how her knees will be when she's older.

  2. Oh, its awful when the pain gets so bad in the knees. I was to the bone and joint specialist the end of March and had a shot of cortisone in both knees. It took well in my right knee, but my left sure gives me grief yet. It stays pretty crabby these days. So glad you are doing better. Its summer and doggone it, I want to be out working on my flowers, garden and just putzing out there, since we finally just are starting to get nice warm days up here in Northern Minnesota

  3. I'm glad you are feeling better. I don't blame you at all for putting off any further surgery. May has been the busy month here and I'm hoping for June things slow down a bit, but I doubt it.

  4. My sisters and mother use glucosamine/condroitin. My sister Lois recently had knee replacement surgery, but that was because both her knees were bone on bone. She's still taking the glu/con as she heals. They do swear by it.
