One way you know you're getting old

We went to Grandparent's Day at the local school; this was our last time at this, since Grandparent's Day stops with the sixth grade. We found Natalie's room, stepped in, and were seated. I kept wondering, Where's the teacher? Is she sick, and they've appointed a high school kid to help out today? Couldn't they get a subsitute teacher?

Finally, noticing how this "high school boy" was taking charge, I asked Natalie, "That isn't your teacher, is it?"

Yep
.

My sixth-grade teacher certainly didn't look like that!

The older I get, the younger the teachers look.

  4. The men teachers I used to have dressed in White shirts and ties and sports coats. If they were hot when the weather got warm they might loosen their tie and take off the jacket but still...tee shirts were never worn unless it was under another shirt. Times are changing for sure. It seems I really don't see many people older than me anymore unless I visit a nursing home or visit with one of my aunts and uncles and they are looking younger all the time.

  9. hmmmm, yeh, he's young but how old do you have to be to realize you should put on REAL shoes and maybe a button down shirt to meet the kids grandparents. I guess I should stand in the "old fuddy duddy line huh?!
