So... I make somebody think?

Melanie in Oregon
has nominated me for the thinking blogger award. Quite a shock, since I don't make a conscious effort to make anybody think!

Thanks for the honor, Mel.

First, the rules:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs
that make you think.
2. Link to
this post so that people can easily find the
exact origin of the meme.
3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger
Award' with a link to the post that you wrote.

(Those who know me realize that I am not a stickler on rules, and I don't expect anyone to do this who doesn't want to.)

So, let's get on with it:

Mrs. Linklater's Guide to the Universe
. She makes me laugh and think, all at the same time.
I have been known to follow her advice a time or two. Sometimes she blogs about sports, and I skip those; nobody's perfect.

Antique Mommy. She'll make you laugh and cry. And definitely make you think. A very talented writer! I'm fairly sure she's been nominated before.

In the midst of this season. Her blog is very much in the same vein as Antique Mommy's. Great writing; heart-felt thoughts.

Just Mary. It's hard for me, sometimes, to read this lady's journal because she takes such pains to give her aging father all the attention he deserves. She makes me realize I could have done a lot better by my parents.

Bare Bones Living!
This gal intends to get out of debt and build up a nest egg, and she's willing to share all the things she's learned with her readers. I need to pay close attention!

  1. Congratualtions on The Thinker Award. I had no idea it was still around.

I was looking through your other recent posts and your garden looks just lovely and those tomatoes! Wow! We have been having really dry weather here and some of the crops don't look as healthy as some years, but we are always hopeful for some fresh veggies when the time is right for the picking. :)

Thank you for sharing and I will have to check out your links.

  2. Aw, thanks, Donna. I'm honored because honestly? It's you who stirs the thinking in me.
I live vicariously through you and your life in the country. As you know, I miss my own small country space that we were blessed to live in for 7 years. And you remind me to slow down and enjoy life more simply, to savor it more sweetly. Always a pleasure to stop by here, Donna.
    Blessings,
    ~Toni~

  3. Thanks Donna! I do hope folks can learn something from my Blog. It's all good and it keeps me accountable.

By the way, you make me think as well. You're pics in the country and descriptions of country life make me think about making that kind of change. Keep it up and I love the pics.
