I'm having so much fun with this

Sometimes I have a genuine revelation.  Last night was one of those rare times.
Cliff was mouthing off at me about something (playfully, I might add).
I normally laugh and keep my silence, but last night I was struck with a great revelation.  Follow this carefully.
Cliff is obsessed with tractors.  I didn't realize it when I married him, but it didn't take too long to figure it out.
When I met my soon-to-be husband, he was living in Kansas City; that's where he'd spent his whole pitiful life.  As far as that goes, I lived in the city too, in an apartment in North Kansas City, but I had twelve years of small-town and country living in my background.  Cliff's sister, Rena, was a co-worker of mine; she introduced us.  The house their family lived in was less than a half-mile from where the Royals Stadium is now located.  The Blue Ridge Mall, now defunct, was right up the road.  I'm talkin' city.
We got married.  My parents were renting a little farm near Blue Springs; Daddy had a Sears Suburban garden tractor that Cliff would play around on, ever time we visited them.
I told my folks we'd love to try and buy a place in the country, and Mother went to work on that.  Somebody she knew at church knew about some fellow with a house on twenty acres for sale; we ended up buying that.
Cliff bought an old Minneapolis Moline tractor from my dad, cheap.
Then he moved up to a Ford 8N tractor.  After that, it was an Oliver 550.
But it never would have happened if he hadn't met me.  After all, my mom helped us find the place and my dad sold him his first tractor.
Good grief, he'd lived in the CITY all his life!
So now I am having so much fun saying to him, over and over....

"If you hadn't met me, you'd be living in the suburbs with a boat in the driveway and not a tractor to your name!"

I might even write a song with such a title.
OK, it's a little long for a title.  But I'll see what I can come up with.

  1. Write the song. It's a GREAT story.

  2. Who would have ever thought you two are (I mean were) city people.

  3. Those thoughts are worthy of a song for sure. It is funny how things work out, but I bet your Cliff will always be thankful that he met you!

  4. If not a title, it's at least a good tag line. I'd love to hear it when you get it written. He'll think twice before he teases you again, won't he?
