The big dog show

Tonight I'm watching, off and on, the Westerminster Dog show. I enjoy it, truly. You can't help but appreciate the differences in the breeds, and all the work that goes into making them what they are.

But when will there be a show for the most popular breed of all, the mongrel?

You know, like my Sadie.

Or Mandy, the dog I will never stop missing:

As a creature of mixed heritage myself (so mixed, I don't have a clue what I am), I say there ought to be a mixed-breed show for dogs. They're the best.

Those Pedigree commercials make me downright teary-eyed.

God bless the mutts.

I can see the events now, that would include your dog(s) and mine:
1. Horse poop eating.
2. Perching on chairs.
3. Barking at nothing.
4. Sleeping excessively.
5. Shedding...a year-round event.
and finally,
6. Licking for pleasure.

Aunt Donna,

Is a dog something like a larger cat?

both your 'mongrels' are beautiful!

Losing a best friend and family member is hard, our dogs are special.

I missed the Westminister last nite. Ill be watching tonite tho! the working dogs and the hounds are my favorite catagories.

Sadie made me laugh! And yep, God bless the mutts.

Barngoddes, Sadie is probably over 2 years old. She was about a year old when I adopted her at the shelter.

Often mixed breeds are the best dogs. I've had several hunting dogs and the non-purebred ones have been, by far, the best. Funny how that works out I suppose.
