Iris has a new hobby

My dog Iris, who never used to want to be outside unless Cliff and I were there with her, has to be begged to come in, now that we've moved back to the old house.  When I look out the back door, this is what I see:

She has a new obsession... squirrels.
At the mobile home, we didn't see many squirrels, so this is all new to my silly dog.

She patrols the yard, running from tree to tree, looking for squirrels.  When she finds one, she barks.  Sometimes they bark back at her.

Sometimes I worry about her.  But I will say this....
When I finally insist on her coming inside at night, she sleeps quite well.

I love Iris. She's a keeper.

Those pesky squirrels! I'm glad that she sleeps well after expending all that energy barking outside. :)

She's just telling you where they are when you decide to make fried squirrel. Lol

Who knew you had a squirrel dog? Hope she eventually gets used to them. Still it's not a bad thing if she scares them away. They are pesky. I planted tulip bulbs for the spring and several have been dug up by the squirrels here already this week. I need a dog like Iris to keep them away.

Well, goodness, Mom, she has to keep those pesky things in line! At least you won't be attacked by sneaky squirrels in your sleep, not with Iris on the watch!
