Got a dog that sheds? (thanks for the heads-up, daughter Rachel)

The worst thing about my dog Sadie is her shedding. Even though she's short-haired, she has an undercoat that puts more hair in my house (and in my Dyson) than you can imagine.

Cliff's sister Rena lives next door now, and she loaned me this little item:

It's the Furminator!

Can you see all those hairballs I got off Sadie? That isn't even half of them; some blew away. And I'll bet if I wanted to spend another hour, I'd get three times as many.

And Sadie can rest SO much better now that she knows she won't be shedding as much. I just took this shot of her under the baby bed in my computer room; it's her favorite spot, especially when I'm at the computer.

I see the Furminator is pricey, but I say it would be worth every penny.

I know this is going to sound silly, but the best pet brush I've ever used is a yellow rubber kitchen glove. It works soooo well. And it works on the furniture too (bonus).

What a coincidence! I just bought the next bigger size Furminator for my cat! She sheds like crazy and her undercoat mats up. And she's not a long haired cat, just your common medium hair. A regular cat comb just skimmed over the mats and her undercoat but the Furminator gets the job done. It's the best thing I've ever found for defurring and removing mats in Dolly's fur.

I have one of those and it does work wonderfully!! I use it on the cats mostly. Amazing the hair that comes off!!

I can see I am going to have to make a purchase. That sounds really good, my cats both have long hair and shed. I keep the mats all out of them but it would be nice to have something to brush them with that would help.

Just came back from a short trail ride. Went bareback and haven't done that in a while. Probably will be lame tomorrow! ha! It's been so hot here I haven't been riding every day like I was. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bit cooler thankfully but we need rain badly.

I have a Furminator, it works and I usually don't say that about things sold on TV. The best thing is that the cat seems to like it and doesn't run away.
