Surprise gifts are sometimes the best -- but on a personal level, I love Christmas morning, even at 66 -- I love seeing Will's and Wendy's faces when they open the things I carefully chosen for them through the year. I've been sending e-bay presents to Wendy's house in Houston all year long and she carefully stores them unopened for me. Gifts, of course, shouldn't be an obligation -- but a privilege. Glad you had such a happy surprise. Like you and your husband we always get what we want are need when we need it. That was a sweet surprise. I think it would be more fun to do what that person did to you. I will keep this in mind. I really enjoy giving people a gift! But when you have to or it is expected it takes all the fun out. I got everyone on both sides of our families to stop with the nonsense of the obligation gift at the holiday's. We were ending up with all sorts of things to "display" that we didn't really need or want. I guess I am a scrooge too!

I would rather take my sister or other family member to a concert or other outing sometime during the year, than give them a knick-knack they don't want.

Inga
ingasmilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13937279012682883776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36183952.post-71132710426750572982012-11-19T11:56:33.406-06:002012-11-19T11:56:33.406-06:00Glad you got a Christmas surprise!
