Wordless Wednesday: neighbor kids playing on the roof

Sorry about the poor picture quality, but I was at quite a distance and taking the pictures through glass. That's a two-story house.

  7. The children playing on the roof reminds me of the time the neighbor called me to ask me if I knew that my kids were climbing out of the second story window by way of bed sheets. I did not. Grin.

  8. Seems a dangerous place to let children play!

  9. Although I cringe at the sight now, about a half-century ago I'd have been one of them. It's a wonder half of us ever survived to become parents.

  10. That reminded me of my teenage years.

A large water-apple tree covering half of the roof of our kitchen.

I'd climb up with a sandwich and a cold drink. Stayed on the roof under its shade whenever I wanted to be alone and chill.

My serenity, with the occasional visit from the birds, chirping sounds and cool breeze... a wonderful place at an awkward age.

My quiet time in my quiet spot. Missed it very much.

Oh, there is that element of danger too... not to doze-off and roll off the roof. Cool!
